wade...
what do i know about him so far.... so far... he is confident. he is uninhibited. he has a unique taste in food. he likes dangerous games. what are his desires... to have fun.. so then it changed because he hit a setback. he is now broken.. not confident... afraid... still likes strange food. he is curious. doesn't want to partake in violence. his desires... are to discover the meaning of death and to destroy s-gard. that seems pretty shallow... what are his long term goals? what drives him... perhaps he needs to discover a long term goal in this temple place? he wants to atone for the deaths and suffering he has caused. thats what he discovers.... perhaps. |

Okies.... I'm talking to Wade here, so S-gard go away! :P
Short term goal sounds okay - discover what death is. (although I knew I should have had shadow explain it to you at some stage - I had a nice little speach all worked out... but it wasn't appropriate for shadow at the time....) Long term goal is okay too although I can see a battle over who get's to kill S-gard. I can't imagine Kavor and Wade being the only one's who'd like to do it. Kcirevam has been quiet but would probably take a stab at it, and Darkness would like nothing better.... The possibility lies here for an alliance although that would be one.... unstable alliance, I think. Given though that the long term goal is such a long term one, you may wish to implement a medium term goal. Once you've discovered what death is, if Wade continues with that and feels remorse, then he may actually be a pacifist for a while, possibly even a healer. Except that clashes with the desire to kill S-gard. This is taking a bit of an all or nothing approach I admit - in that you either become a healer or a fighter. It can be done though. And it is possible to have someone who avoids combat still wish to kill someone else. Possibly what could work is that Wade discovers a new respect for his opponents, so that even when he kills them he will remember their sacrifice and the fact that they fought him. That ties in with his to come, new found understanding of death since he understands that he killed them, but reasons that he killed them for a purpose. Perhaps he could become someone who only fights when necessary. He can still feel remorse for all the suffering and killing he has done but because he now understand what it means to fight, and what it means to have a goal, he can respect the dead now. For discovering long or medium term goals I don't think the temple is the best place - Kavor's true memories might help here. Wade doesn't appear to understand much of human relations and so that is one area he will need to learn about. The fact that it's possible for creatures to like each other, love, hate, play, friends. That sort of thing. He already knows betray but I'm not sure how much that will colour his actions. I suggest Kavor's true memories over the temple since what I've been trying to point to is that Kavor was in a loving relationship before his soul was trapped in Kavorkian. It's been hinted that the relationship was with a valkyrie. If Wade somehow through the temple interface could see that, he might be able to learn more about relationships. And death, possibly since Kavor lost his lover and last memory was fighting off her killers - the other Valkyrie. Classic forbidden love story... I know. But meh... Where Wade is now: Wade is in what I called the 'true world' however what this actually means is really, really vague. I was going to view it as a parallel where some creatures dwell. Xeravil's summons for example could live there. This is a world that is only visable when you have enough power or are a native - hence the Ice Elemental, and Darkness can see it no problem. All others might only catch glimpses of it. Since it is the true world, you can go anywhere in it. However for beings wihtout the power to understand everything they see, it's not a good place for extended stays. I don't know how long is not good. The true world would also allow Wade to learn some things but there are some things I don't think he should know - summoning for example and some of the history between S-gard and Xeravil would probably be hidden from him by said entitities. Since they have been around for a very long time, they have learnt how to control this world, hence Draobrev can change shape when they wish, the cafe doesn't blow up, and the palace is self healing. Those sorts of things could be attributed to the real world. In general though, having a vague moveable goal is a good idea but I think you also need to define how Wade will act around people. Is he going to try to help them, or is he going to try to ally with them? Obviously he will have specific reactions to specific people - S-gard = Kill, Kcirevam = Possible attack because he suggested that Wade go fight S-gard, etc.... But for new people, you're going to want a basic fall back position - help, ally, ignore, provoke, etc. Kavor's for example is see how strong they are, then if strong enough ally with them. Shadow's is remain nuetral, don't provoke them, learn what you can, kill if necessary. And I'm rambling, although I hope this helps. |

no you're not rambling, it is all very useful.
how does he react to newq people? well he is a curious character. he is always interested in seeing what happens if he does this or that.. but it think he is more wary so i guess he is cautious about new people, until he learns more about them. he watches from a distance. I guess he has no real concern for how powerful they are anymore. he does not wish to fight them. I guess his goal is to not kill people, he does not have any real morals, in other regards, because he has never needed to. he wil, not approve of someone who would harm people for the sake of it though.. it would remind him very much of his past self... he wil like people who have honor he will hate a person who is intent on destruction. he may not get along with kccirevam very well you are right about the not fighting unless absolutely necesary, but when he does fight he does not hold back, because he does not want to chance them getting the upper hand. so i guess he has become a very strategic fighter. also yes i think he will become very respectful of the dead. in the true world i guess we can see spirits of the dead, i can't remember if i said it or suggested it, but i think wade will talk to the dead and get their feelings. well... maybe not talk to them.. maybe he will just see them and consider them... |

A necromancer zoalord?
It's got possibilities. Just be careful not to push him too far too fast. it's one of the probs. I've got little things planned out for Shadow all the way up to about level 200, or so.... I don't know if they'll all get done but it gives me something to work to. It gives me something to define when I can have her do things. For example I want her to be able to regenerate her own weapons without requiring material for them but that requires a lot of power, so she's not going to be able to do that for a while. And she so needs a long range attack but again thats not going to happen for a while. With Wade, maybe have him see them first, for a while before he can interact with them fully. The dead are a very powerful ally but I imagine they could be dangerous given the right situation and they may not trust him at first. It would also give him time to experiment with what he can and can't do. Wade is in a very unique situation, one that I doubt will happen to another, so I guess the real advice is take advantage of it, but not too much advantage. |

Very nice. Read post now. Sorry.
I'm sorry I misunderstood earlier. You have used the temple as a place for the dead to congregate. That was a good touch. Although it was a little disconcerting to see the dead from all realms there, rather than just Draobrev but those are the one's probably closer to Wade so it's understandable. |
