Let's kill something

As to topic says, let's kill something!

Not darkness though, at least not yet. I think we could possibly help kill it in time if Kcirevam or Shadow request such help.

I'd suggest that we kill the off spring or an off shoot of the ancient evil. That way we can bring back the whole ancient evil later if desired because we provoked it.

This is all a proposal of how it could be done. Feel free to change things since it is very much Xeravil based and thus needs more S-gard in it.

How to bring it in?

Xeravil is currently toddling back to her domain so she could find something wrong there and so returns back to S-gard saying 'We have a problem' but she can't determine exactly what it is.

Then they can investigate what the problem is. Until we are ready to fight it, it can remain under investigation. This means we can work out pesky details like looks, battle plans, etc

What caused the ancient evil to return?

- don't know but I would suggest an imbalance between the true world and the world possibly gave it the opportunity to come back partially.

- Or it could have been biding it's time and the influx of new comers has given it the opportunity to come back. Or it was looking to take over one of the new comers.

What should it be?

An incarnation of Death. One of the ultimate dedicated summons. That is, it is ONLY a death summon. A pure summon.

Say Xeravil's master summoned it with her help far in the past (I don't want to take all the blame) but the summon was too evil for anyone to control.

Death is natural but this thing is not and wants to kill everything. It broke way. Xeravil knocked out back then but teacher eventually trapped a part of the ancient evil in the true sword ' which weakened it and it retreated back to summon space. The locks keeping it there though are old and a part has gotten out.

The initial defeat of this, when S-gard had the sword is one of the things that made them hero's of the kingdom but also drove them apart.

Basil I would say is related to it but Basil is much more controllable and is an ultra rare variation.

it all sounds very confusing....
have you contradicted yourself at any point though that?

using the one true sword to trap it? so that means that there is part of the ancient evil in the sword?
but the sword got divided...

no i like the idea of a DEATH SUMMON..
but i dont think it should twist its way into the tale of the sword.
we dont wanna get ourselves into a gordian knot now do we! lol
but it sounds good if its something that has come to bite xeravil on the bum coz she is a summoner and it shows the mistakes of her past.
kinda like the darkness to s-gard but not as powerful?
i like the way you say that xeravil returns and says
"we got a problem"
its so cliche. but its cool.
it's pretty easy to say how this thing has returned from its dormancy.
someone is channeling dead into the temple area.
this is bound to get a death summons attention.
it would be good to say that xeravils teacher summoned the death summon in a fit of rage.
when he realised what he had done, xeravil had called s-gard and they were both battling it.
(remember, it was the splitting of the sword that drove them apart.
but in that case i see what you were getting at..
but i dont think it should be the death summon that is the thing that s-gard was calling on. too small. i was thinking more like hades.
thats why xeravil attacked s-gard. he was trying to control hades.
but the death summon could have been what gave him the misguided idea to control hades.)

when the master summoner came back he sacrificed himself to seal the death summon.
irony.

lol, I might have! Oh well. With the sword what I meant was that a part of it ended up in the sword, and resided within the Dark Sabre hence it was trying to influence S-gard to gain control of Hades. But it's okay.

I like the addition of Hades ' have you been playing Kingdom Hearts? *looks forlornly over at pile of games to be played* I really don't get to play enough. Very nice additions all round. I tend to try to tie everything in together to get the huge knots.

Although this thing is beginning to sound a bit like how I understand Sin to be from FFX. It's different enough I think though and it's not against the rules to steal good ideas.

I'm assuming that you are happy to go to town on something?

Now to make some lists ' I like lists. razz.gif

This thing will require two time lines I think ' one for the present and one for the past. I like time lines too.

How much of the past one gets revealed though will depend on how it gets written but that doesn't matter.

Past Time Line

1. Xeravil's master summons it.
2. Realises can't control it.
3. It escapes.
4. Havok reigns
5. S-gard and Xeravil fight it
6. It suggests to S-gard that he can control death ' Hades ' leading to their future argument
7. S-gard and Xeravil trap it somewhat but can't fully contain it.
8. Xeravil's master returns and sacrifices himself to stop it ' how about gives them a warning that he hasn't killed it, just contained it. It will take something else to kill it, hence that was one of the reasons they went on the quest for the true sword (and my desire to tie everything into everything strikes again!)

Present Time Line

1. Xeravil notices some things wrong ' possibly just a feeling
2. Goes back to S-gard to tell him something wrong
3. Two of them investigate what is wrong ' channelling of dead through the temple $
4. Determine how the thing (it needs a name but we can just call it the Ancient Evil for now since that will add to mystery) got back.
5. Try to correct problem to prevent it coming.
6. When ready, fight it. *rubs hands together' oh lots of summons!*
7. Might use this as an excuse to summon 'phoenix' which can be used if someone kills a player who didn't wish to be killed.

$ and You might need to pull Wade out of the true realm then for a bit, or at least restrict the number of dead he can see since once it is worked out what is wrong, correcting the mistake would be the first step towards fixing it.

Since I've already done the pre-emptive post for destroying Darkness would you like to do the opening post for this? Or a post to establish where S-gard is?

Xeravil can do the opening post for it if you'd like since the speed with which S-gard or Xeravil travel has not yet been ascertained but I would like to establish where S-gard is at the moment, at the very least and this would give us time to ' figuratively speaking ' give us time to look for what is wrong.

I have to post shadow as well too since she needs to start healing. Oh well.

On a different topic that I couldn't be bothered making a new thread - I was thinking about making a 'getting started' guideline - not about character creation but about the initial process here. Is there anythign you would like added to that.

Essentially all I was going to say is that, create your character (see advice here), then read up, and make initial post. Xeravil or S-gard will assign you an initial rank, then keep posting and have fun.

I know it's very simple but sometimes these initial steps are what give people the most trouble. I'll try to do my guide to creating a character on Sunday. No promises though... this weekend is looking extraordinarily packed.

lots to consider.
as i have said in the other post the library has been changed a little, so i think i will have s-gard be there. then xeravil can meet up with him in the library.
irony. i like it. thats where the symbol is.
although this is a different fight... it does seem to have that irony dontya think?

tying knots, but this one is not a gordian knot. its a nice simple reef knot. i like those. they are sturdy and resilient. like this part of the story.
i like it.
for the name of it...
i want to try and link it with jenova or sephiroth. not in a direct fashion, but i want to go to the same source that they used for the influences for those characters.
i cant remeber what it is called, its some type of hindu or something.
the kabbal. that was it.
i'll do a search for sephiroth.
okay, the wikipedia gave me this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephirot
i think that if we are using a death summon then the most suitable name to use would be - Gevurah ("Severity"; גבורה)
we would have to adapt it to not infringe on any religious beliefs or anything, so how about Gevuurha? its different but the same.

about wade. i think i can pull him away from there. i wanted to take him across the land, away from nizalb. lol.. but i dont think it would be fair.
i think what i'll do is initiate the fight with secrem.
not sure if blaze has even been in here for a while, so i will pm him as well on the board.

the getting started thing sounds good. unfortunately its tough to even contemplate reading over all the past history, that is a lot of writing that we have made. so there must be some way for us to have it so that they do not feel overwhelmed. gall hasn't started at all. perhaps he feels overwhelmed?
perhaps we should make it clear that the world is changing??
perhaps introduce some dynamic that means that noobs can write anything and it doesn't matter? or even how about we add something like an oracle, that can give them an overview? they can visit this oracle at any time just to ask a question on wether they could do this or that.

Gall's waiting to determine what the world is like, which is why I think a getting started thread with the rules would be worth it. I asked him.

An oracle though sounds like a good idea.

Blaze has been back and forth a bit, although he did say he wasn't going to post for a while. I tried to encourage him to keep at it, pointing out the benefits of continuing - ie tougher character so I at least talked him out of killing Nizalb.

Very nice opening. Now all we have to do is search for it for a while.
Once we decide what it should be like - because I think it deserves a bit in the library, then we can fight it. I'll look for some pictures... although it's a little difficult to say. Hmm.... oh well, no rush.

I will work on that how to get started thing then.

for the design of this death summon, I could adapt my zoanoid design for the competition...
If is make it rather dark, add a couple of hollows in the skin, and remove the feet and replace them with stilts, i think it could look rather 'dead-ifying'
whatya think???

an incredible idea!!
kavor could be the reincarnation of xeravils old master!

what do you think of that?

I want wade to be killed buy the death summon, to show its evil nature.
then we can use the phoenix summon as you described.
this may make him hate s-gard a little less.

I also wish s-gard to liberate kcirevam from the darkness.
he can use this dark power to help defeat death, or 'Gevuurha' as we called him.
I think it would be a nice confrontation with a multi faceted battle with the people of the city and kcirevam and the darkness and that wierd guy whatever his name was.

Kihan? Kihan's dead.

Sorry, read this after I sent that PM.

Sounds good. I'd better go find a decent phoenix picture. :)

I tink maybe if we tie Kavor into this and Metal Man as well, then we could be tieing too many of the 'creations' into it. There's also a bit where Kavor's spirit was trapped in the form of Kavorkain and it doesn't make sense that S-gard would trap Xeravil's master when he was the one who sacrificed himself to trap it before. I don't know. I just think I'd like Kavor to be separate from the mess.

yeah i agree.
after what has been sorted out in the pms, it would be a pain to bring extra stuff into it.
