Need to start off with a generic topic.

Last movie I watched was..... Nobody. t was quite interesting to watch his mundane life go by and then for some surprising stuff to happen.
Oh! I just realised I don't have a spoiler tag....
Let's just say the movie was well made and very interesting!!

Well I haven't seen Nobody I didn't think your description of the film contained spoilers.

I say this because ''Guy who's mundane life goes by only for surprising stuff to happen'' is quite a common film trope, that and you didn't go into the specifics of what his mundane life contained or what the surprising stuff was.

I think your description definitely gives a good summarisation of the film without going into the spoiler inducing specifics of the films narrative, music & cinematography.

ah! I forgot to add that spoiler tag! well I just added it now and I figured i'd add bbcode buttons at the same time so this should be easier.

So there are things I didn't say about the movie that would have been spoilers. such as how the events unfolded on the bus! having previously seen how he was reluctant to do anything during the burglary, we sort of got the sense that he was cowardly, or not competent, but then this happens.
It's pretty intense, so I really recommend it!

Popeye (1980) This is one of the most unhinged films I've ever seen, it's frankly kinda terrible, but gets away with it through it's cast and it's audience. It's a kids movie, and it's a fun one at that, I still enjoy it even though I'm not a kid, I love Robin Williams as an actor. It's funny, it's a musical, but it's bonkers.  Honestly 6/10

Annie (1982) I watched this film for the first time last night, and honestly the movie is pure bliss and joy. I loved the music, I really liked the story, sure I've seen the Wonderful World Of Disney version but this one in many ways is so much richer. It's not perfect, it's a bit anticlimactic post battle, but overall it's a great cinematic treat. Miss Hannigan is frankly insane and psychotic in this version with her drinking, advances and mistreatment, my biggest question was why is she at the end party? She should be in prison!

I did really enjoy it, like I said it's got some chipped edges but overall I loved it! 9.5/10

I've watched a lot the last week so here is all of the respective reviews:

Cinderella (1950) This is a really good movie. It's classic Disney, it's a classic Princess story, it's a great movie. Cinderella may not be perfect writing wise, and I'll agree it's cast of characters can overshadow the plot but they don't seem too that much. Everyone helps Cinderella and when Cinderella needs time to show emotion so we can empathize she gets it. The films beautifully animated and without it we wouldn't have any future Disney. 10/10

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Predator Badlands (2025) This might be the best action film of 2025 hands-down. I've not seen a lot, but oh my gosh is this film amazing. The action, the music, the visuals, the plot, all of it really works to create maybe not a perfect experience but one that truly is rewarding for newcomers to the franchise. I loved the action in this film specifically, the first 10 minutes has one of the best sword fights I've seen in years (laser swords) Whatever. It's great! I love the music as well, oh it oozes with creativity and spectacle. It's ending feels a bit bland and not as epic as it's start, but still it's very fun!

9.5/10 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Zootopia (2016) A great Disney film, honestly a great movie in general. I don't remember the last time I saw it, but I had a blast, I think I appreciate it more now as an adult for it's themes of prejudice and stereotype issues and really appreciate it trying to say something apart from being entertaining.  It's still beautifully animated and I love the song "Try Everything! 10/10

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Zootopia 2 (2025) A great sequel, it's emotional like the first, it's as entertaining as the first, and I would argue also tries to address like the first, real issues in society. It's a great sequel where you can tell time and care was organically taken and the result is a great product. However, it's themes don't feel as vividly addressed as the first films themes were. Furthermore, where they take the characters, could've gone further. But still it's highly enjoyable! 8/10
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wicked For Good (2025) Wicked For Good is ironically, very good! It's a great movie in fact, while I don't think it reaches the heights the first film does, it still on occasion has moments that surpass and you can clearly tell that a true effort was made to make this feel like one continuous experience. The film has beautiful songs, visuals, character growth and depth, and Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both shine with awesome performances!

It's a film that deserves to be seen at the cinema.

It does struggle at time with pacing, but it's not a train wreck, just you can feel it's a bit short at some moments, that things need to perhaps breathe more. 8/10

⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alice In Wonderland (1951) This film frankly is one of the most boring animated Disney films I've seen so far, it's got a lot of creative ideas but no plot that makes them compelling or interesting, it's tone is bizarre and it's so wacky, I actually prefer Tim Burton's version because it's idk, has a plot at least? This film is so boring. It is way too long. 4/10
⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Peter Pan (1953) is quite a good movie, I was sort of not sure how I'd feel on my most recent rewatch, but I actually really enjoyed it. It's stereotypes and racism of the Indians is unacceptable but clearly a product of the 1950s, otherwise it's quite a fun feature. I would've liked to have seen a darker adaptation but for what we got it's a classic and charming!

Lady & The Tramp (1956) A Great piece of Disney Animation, this film just is well frankly perfect, and sure maybe you could improve some things, but it all comes together. I admit I'm biased cause I love dogs, but the dogs are so likable, the music is great, the art style is not grand in a sense of an epic, but it creates a beautiful look to everything. When you see the neighborhood Lady lives in, you want to live there! Tramp also is a very fun character, the voice acting but also how much and how little we know. All in all, it's just a great story of loyalty from a man's best friend mixed with romance only the way Disney could do it! I loved it. 10/10

Lady & The Tramp II: Scamps Adventure (2001) That honestly was not as great as I remembered. While I enjoy it still quite a bit, as I love dogs and like the characters, its flaws are more noticeable. Not even that it's a repeat of the first in concept, but it's also just sort of bad, it's animation definitely has flaws that are noticeable. It's story of father and son is not well developed. Tramp does not tell Scamp of his past life, even when Scamp needs to hear it most, and the interaction they have about him deciding whether or not to go home or stay a Junkyard dog comes within the ending 25 minutes and is completely undone when he urgently needs help. That part I don't mind, after all it's a realization he needs a loving family over self and free reign without love, but the emotion isn't there more then just a surface level. The voice-cast also isn't splendid, no one does a bad job per-say, but you can definitely tell a teen / adult is voicing a puppy, and Buster's voice to singing is very different and jarring. I'd recommend it if you have kids and like the original sure, but it's not anything special. 6.5-7/10

I watched a couple recently!

The Dark Tower (2017)

This was a fun movie, as someone who has not read the novels, I knew this was gonna be different, and I didn't know how I'd like it, but I really enjoyed it. It's got a script that's tight enough it never really drags, cool visual effects, a fun music score, and a great lead in Idris Elba, who really gives a dramatic and fun pressance. The film's also fun, twisted and dark but still has this entertainment out of his performance, to make the more creepy elements not feel so dark. On that note, the dark elements such as the "demons" look more like something akin to Aliens.

Biggest holdup was probably the choppy editing in the beginning, but otherwise I think it's a fun film. 7/10

Green Lantern (2011) This was not that great, I didn't hate it, but I didn't get anything monumental or special out of it. While I've not read Green Lantern I have to admit it's story is weak, and the emotions are flat, anything set up or gripping is forgotten for a generic story of courage, and I can see why it didn't do well. It's ending legit becomes the most generic climax, villain is an idiot and dies, then big CGI battle which is solved within five minutes. I didn't hate it, but not great. 4/10 - maybe even lower - Not sure.

⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Avatar (2009) This film is a masterpiece in imagination and visual excellence, the films visuals are top notch, still gorgeous in 2025, with places such as the tree of souls and the night ceremonies being wallpaper worthy, they are gorgeous, the films ideas of tackling industrial taking over natives, while clunky has good merit, it's themes are unfortunately not made up, but true realities.  I really liked the movie, a bit long and some places a bit brief, but overall really good, and I can't wait to see the third film this Thursday.

Wicked For Good (2025) Had some friends that wanted to see it plus my mom, so went and saw it again. I liked it a lot more, but I would argue the bubble song is unneeded and could be cut or at least trimmed, still not sure how I feel about pacing. 7.5/10 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Avatar The Way Of Water (2022) This was the big one I had to rewatch with the sequel journey for me tmrw night at the theater, I really enjoyed this, I split it over 2 days cause it's so long, but it earns it. While I could say yes it's a bit too long it yet does not have really a single scene I'd outright argue is bad and needs to be removed, could it be better? Sure, not perfect but very close, it's gorgeous and everything clicks! 9.9/10 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Avatar Fire & Ash (2025) is wonderful, I really enjoyed this movie, I didn't feel it was a complete rehash of Way Of Water, it went in interesting directions, it was darker, it was longer, but overall I really enjoyed it. I felt overall enjoyability wise everything was gorgeous and it had some amazing sequences!!

The music was also wonderful the character moments were great, I really liked it.

I didn't like the ending, I felt it was anti-climactic, the bad guy just jumps off the ledge, and the Ash people leader is somewhere in the world. I also had expected someone to die on the good side, I actually was expecting Jake but no. Everyone's fine that you really care about, I also felt the whole son that's a disappointment sub-plot felt off, Jake's only okay with disobedience when he makes his father proud?? He never even said sorry for saying his brother's dead because of him, like wow.

9/10  ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐/⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Gay Purr-ee (1962) is such an odd film, it's plot is kind of bizzare and is at times. nonsensical. But it's so interesting, everything in the film is gorgeous, Paris, the cats, the buildings, everything has so much color and vibrance. Even rough moments like the unneeded artists reviews, there's just such artistry in replicating the artists being spoken about. Plot wise and character wise, pretty terrible. About as basic as you'd expect, but visually like this looked great, and honestly I liked Judy Garlands voice-acting and songs, even if the lyrics were pretty amateur. Definitely see why compared to other animated features it's story is bashed, but amongst visuals especially in 1962 it soars.

To the argument "The Aristocats" copied it, I could see some bits, but this film unlike that actually tries to be visually stunning.

I really liked this. 9/10 -  ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Castle In The Sky (1988) Castle In The Sky is Studio Ghiblis second release and in my honest opinion I didn't love it. I thought it still had beautiful visuals and moments, but I overall think it's my least favorite out of the four I have seen. Probably because I expected it to be a giant fantasy epic and its really not, not in a medeivial sense. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say I loved it.
Final Rating would probably be a 6/10 - ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

The Aristocats (1970) is great, it's honestly a musical sensastion and another fun Disney feature bursting at the seams with rib tickling fun as some might say! It's honestly a great film, it's simplistic, it's adventurous and funny, all the songs while few feel like they fit, especially "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat" I will admit I did feel like it had some shading issues, there's one bit at the beginning where duchess goes cream colored for that sequence in the scene, then is back to her normal white fur?

I've heard that the models took awhile to be finalized so that could explain!

Is it a little dated with some moments? Sure, but it's delightful Disney fun!!

Honestly I don't have any negatives, it's art style fits it's location, and even odd moments like the Geese are just so charming and the animators made the smart move to make them not stick around the whole film. They go to Paris, find Boris then leave, and it works!

Honestly a 9/10 film! - ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This is an excellent movie! I really enjoyed this film, it is such a bizarre and dumb concept yet it works excellently, Keanu Reeves feels so odd to see so young, but truly this film is a masterpiece. A film that could only work in the 80s, I love it, the music, the time travel, the humor! It works! 5/5 stars! 9.5/10

The Secret Of Nimh (1982) is one of the best animated movies ever made, I would also state it is the best Don Bluth movie ever made. This film is exactly what Don Bluth wanted it to be, no interference, no execs, just pure Bluth and it's cinematic gold. Every frame of animation is so gorgeous and meticulously hand-drawn with such elegance and care. Every moment builds character depth, every beat has a purpose, the score in this film composed by Jerry Goldsmith is a lullaby to the ears. Oh my gosh I love this movie, this film also has ONE OF the BEST sword fights I have ever seen in an animated film, it's drawback is how short, but it's intensity it's musical score, it's visuals, it's pure bliss! I think this is certainly a wake up call for what modern animation needs to be. The film gets dark, it gets intense, but it makes the climax SOO rewarding, that moment when the score comes in, you just feel different, you feel like a wash of joy has poured over you. Maybe the film could use some slight extensions but if we're talking about the film we have it's dang near perfect if not PERFECT.  10/10

An American Tail (1986) Watching this film I sort of had higher expectations, it's a film I know was infamous for it's message about immigration and it's Jewish undertones for the mice, and I think that is a really cool aspect. I like when kids films have deeper meanings or important details, and this has that. Otherwise though, it's sub-par. The film basically lives on inconveniences of Fivel and his family missing each other every time they are close to one another and it feels too episodic. It also didn't feel idk as grand or as big as Nimh which isn't exactly bad, but that film is like an 11/10 and this at worst is like a 6-8 for me out of 10. Even the darker moments and message felt underdeveloped, like this film was too kiddish for it's own good. I didn't love it or hate it, it was just fine, a bit boring in some parts honestly.  ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ /⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Why do you post the exact same message across multiple forums, where 99.9% of the time no one responds? Why do you do it? Why not pick one instead of spamming multiple? It feels disingenuous, especially with most people not saying anything. Why not go edit a film? If I saw you double, triple, posting I'd make you stop and choose, or leave. The forums aren't meant to be your dumping grounds.

It's true that this topic was not intended as a review topic. Topics are meant for discussion so unless a reply is prompting discussion it does end up being spam. Prism I know you are not intending to spam people so perhaps it's better not to post your reviews here. Replies should take the form of replies to what somebody else said.

Perhaps I should work on creating the franchise/movie/show section so you can review them. That would be the appropriate place.

Edit: oh! And I can prevent double posts in the forum functions. That would be very straight forward...
But do we want to prevent double posting strictly, across the board...

I think it's about the way you posted it. It's copy and paste reviews. That don't feel like they are conversational, giving people the feeling that they can reply and talk about it.  Think about whether your post is inviting a response from other people.
for example, right now, we are talking. This is what a forum is meant to be for, a back and forth. But if your posts aren't inviting a back and forth, then it might not be appropriate for within a forum. It's not necessarily about 'doing wrong', it's about how it effects the potential conversation.
