report button and admin tools

I've added a report button to forum messages, fanedits and fan worker profiles, so that users can report objectionable content.
The report fires off an email directly to me.
I can then use the new admin tool to view each message or fanedit, etc and can edit where necessary and I can disable a user account from that screen.

In time I could create more advanced moderation tools, but for now it will suffice.

btw, please don't use the report button frivolously, as it could get irritating to receive a lot of emails.

Out of curiosity and for clarity what would clasify as ''objectionable content'' for a Fanedit other than say violation of the No Pornography and Illegal Materials rule?

Since standard officially released movies and TV shows go from the U Rating to the 18+ Rating with various degrees of tastes that appeal to different kinds of people depending on the genre, personal preferences and subject matter that said media explores in there various forms of storytelling.

Or has the report button feature been added to Fanedits to address the no pornography and illegal content rules so that if such content of a Fanedit falls under illegal content or pornography it can be reported quicker?

It's a good question. I think it's there to be used under good judgement. So if you see a fanedit and you think there's a problem, if the listing has inappropriate cusswords or if it is overly descriptive of R type content or if it has other issues. Maybe it give you information on another user, or some other problem. Maybe it's a grind house of a kids movie and not giving adequate warning.

And yeas the illegal and adult material reason you mentioned.

Oh sorry I should probably add, clicking the report button brings up a small form so you can input a reason.
You can safely press the button to see that without sending a report.

Sorry for the late response I had just got back from Bristol when I saw your replies,  I,ll keep those things in mind if I do end up doing Fanedits of movies or TV series where I keep most of the 15+ or 18+ Certified content. (Content Warnings will be in my listings if I do such edits of said age ratings)

Honestly that's understandable, there are just as many mature and responsible adults as there are immature and irresponsible adults on the internet so it always helps to have a contingency plan for the various possible outcomes should said outcomes occur.

The sound of that small form to clarify the reason for the report definitely brings a sense of reassurance, I remember YouTube's report feature being absolutely terrible and prone to abuse back in the day, hopefully that,ll improve someday.

Anyway thanks for clarifying the details triadne and I hope the holiday season is treating you well however it is you spend the holiday season that is.
