I have to say, I'm generally irked when they make a sequel to something that had a very well defined and finished story. Coco 2? well I guess some people will enjoy the characters and want to see more of them. It just bothers me personally.

Who do you think is the target audience? Children, however I'd argue the content being produced is not "quality content" and just meant to "be colors for color sake, be noise" no actual greater reason to teach or exist. I am happy for the kids that will like it, but I must ask, aren't there better ways to entertain?

The End Of Oak Street - SPOILER REVIEW, Sadly a disappointment and yet a good movie?
A film I was actually really looking forward to, then I saw the reviews and opinions and was like... hm. But in retrospect, I did really enjoy it, I admit it does have problems especially pacing and certain scenes that feel out of place/unneeded but I did like what it was trying to do. Ultimately I think it's trying to be an original dinosaur film thats more brutal then the modern Jurassic films, whether it does that or not is complicated. But I did like it. It's got a lot of major issues though, the first act is way too slow with it dragging and feeling clunky, I can't tell if its reshoots or what, but it just didn't come together. I felt bored honestly, the middle is where it got good with the dinosaur action but that's of course the point... but the later part of the film and ending are bad. (spoiler hidden)I want the darker cut, I want the cut that got bad test scores, cause this cut isn't even making money. :(

2027 best picture INCOMING... (spoiler hidden) Okay well I can be really cynical and probably well reasoned to say, this looks like baby food, garbage, slop. HOWEVER... I do know its funding jobs, and frankly I have sympathy for the people forced to work on this project. At least its keeping the lights on but as a piece of artwork, yea no, not excited.

Upcoming Film & TV News
Let's chat about the exciting upcoming films for 2026 and beyond, or the unexciting films. You choose, lol! Anyways, we got a new featurette for Paramounts "Heart Of The Best" starring Odin the dog (better lead then the actor) lol, no but hey, it's cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFTFrV8GSWw and I like they are using a real dog. Another new thing... A24 released a trailer for Primetime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fHXyqQOKL8 Which for those sensitive to (spoiler hidden) this is probably not for you. However as for me watching this I mean it's probably gonna be interesting but IDK, I'd have to look into the actual story to see how "Hollywoodized" it is, that said off the premise it could be in a way not cathartic but almost... very satisfying? Seeing these people called out and dealt with? But obviously there's legal issues with questions of, should Chris Hansen even be doing this? What gives him legal right? ON a Lighter note; Ketchup have released a clip from Coyote VS Acme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W508lrjF7ns I honestly am very worried for the films financial prospects but I think it's legacy could be more important then a dollar sign. It's an example of an artwork, one many who've seen have claimed is great being treated like rubbish because it wasn't profitable for the studio that held it's fate. I'd rather get a bad movie saved or a good movie saved, then never see it due to just "financial insecurities". HOWEVER- I do think WB was probably right in "claiming it wouldn't be profitable" because Looney Toons frankly just aren't these days. Unfortunately - but I still am planning to see this if for nothing else to have fun!

Spiderman BND Spoiler Discussion
Alright so I saw Spiderman BND this past Saturday August 1st 2026, and I really liked it... but certain things prevented me from loving it, I still prefer NWH, and while I tried to attempt to create a discussion, it was gonna be too many filtered text and such so let's move here: THAT Said... my two biggest problems are 1. I don't think Jean needed to be in this at all and the X-Men tie in just feels like Marvel trying to build up Phase 7 2. Jean is kind of hard to like: What I mean by that, is Sadie Sink's Jean Grey one, I did not emotionally connect with performance wise, and furthermore, her actions are really hard to get past. I am all for forgiving IRL people make bad choices, and mistakes, but there are just some things that make it hard to wanna root for them even when they change in media. 1. Jean basically tricking a lonely young adult into thinking his crush remembered him and going as far as to let him kiss her just to reveal "I'm mind control" - one that morally has complexities - I wouldn't call it sexual assault but then again I have to be honest I fell for it and didn't see the twist coming- on that level it was an amazing twist that actually got me. BUT... I still struggle to forgive Jean for exploiting a man's emotions for what purpose? "to punish"? Furthermore even when later Peter gives her over to Damage Control... Jean's mad at him which I get but like- he didn't know better, and the second he did he was sorry... THAT SAID I also felt the way they made the connection with Aunt May to be very clunky? I loved the dialogue, and thought that was emotional but how did that even work? Peter just let her hear the words said to him? Is that even genuine help? That'd be like a therapist giving you there last patients same help plan despite you being a different person then the past client. Also Jean's kinda no offense, I didn't like the performance and I don't know if I'd blame the actress, more the direction: My go to Phoenix is Sophie Turner which sure "was she a bad actress"? DP is a bad movie- but what I remember most, amongst the studio reshoots and junk is the performance: Sophie could very easily be the innocent scared girl that has this unmatchable power... and yet go into a vicious rage of emotions whenever the script needed- this Jean could to (Sadie Sinks) but I don't feel the vocal warmth of past performances. I think BND gets a lot right, I mean I love the direction for the most part, the cinematography, the music, the action, oh just gold!!! Though I admit once again, I think Scorpion would've been a more fulfilling villain because of his actual physiciality in combat (AKA Jean's mainly using mind magic and psychic shields) but also it'd close the Homecoming post credit scene. Where it felt like this film basically was like Eh. Forget the past trilogy set ups.

Justice is important in online platforms.
Yea it's weird, but its because the automated bot system- IK for a fact I would think- lol that YT does not strike videos or Disney, but it's an automated system.

Justice is important in online platforms.
It's strange how they would be blocking your reviews and reaction to one of there trailers Prism as someone promoting there work through excitement and positivity would surely benefit them financially, this is definitely a case of online injustice upon both there fans and their own financial stability. As to whether people will accept automated functions online or not this honesty depends on the kind of people who encounter said automation, some will simply accept it and conform to the latest tech trend others who are more cautious and genre savvy are most certainly likely to not accept such automation and may even outright challenge it and campaign for it's deletion. On the matter of actor controversy and the manner on how criminals should be dealt with in accordance with there crimes, those are subjects I'd rather not delve into any further. Others who see this thread might but not me.

Justice is important in online platforms.
I think that's pretty good tbh, especially since we lean on Discord Oauth to verify users, this makes this site safer and it makes children safer. The methods used... may not always be the best. The automated systems, leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully we can improve that. with regards to the rest, I'm not confident if it's wise to have political discussions here. I mean I am not confident I can elaborate on my thoughts without saying too much or too little. Justice means fairness and support for all, and improving the state of society.

Justice is important in online platforms.
You then get pieces like this coming up: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/attorney-general-ken-paxton-secures-historic-legal-victory-forcing-discord-protect-texas-children Basically Texas has forced Discord to add in new protections for age verification to prevent less predator encounters. But can we say that the punishment for these people isn't often enough? I mean I look at Hollywood, Jared Leto called out for sexual misconduct, what will happen? Probably lose acting, but no prison sentence? I also agree that they are very tight lipped about protocols taking place: Which some might argue is "to protect the offenders" but I say who cares. "They made there bed, they can lie in it." If they really want to be a complete bigot and jerk then they deserve to be labeled for it and not shielded by corporations. Also I totally sympathize with the stupid YT content blocking - I've not had it go that far but, I've had multiple reviews blocked, tbf one or 2 used a lot of footage, but even the new Doomsday trailer got struck and I'm just like bro- Disney, I am trying to promote your movie by explaining my excitement?? I do hate "automated protections" besides anything automated can be exploited? Do you think people are really gonna accept more automated / protection verifications? No, it'll be broken. That said I do defend discord as I admit I was under 13 when I joined and so were many others, I'm 21 now, but I think in general yea, joining could be made stronger but not by an AI tech piece.

Supergirl How To Fix The Ending (SPOILERS)
I think you bring up the words CGI and AI a bit too casually. These things are not easy and they are not a magic bullet. I think the first thing you should do is investigate these technologies and use them and see the process that would be required to change footage or create new footage. If you want to say " I can't do this stuff so I'll just let someone else do it" that would be somewhat disrespectful as there is no recognition of what is involved in that and wouldn't be fully respectful of another person's labour. what can you do with your skills. that is how an editor should be thinking first and foremost. you need to know if something is feasible before you start making plans.

Supergirl How To Fix The Ending (SPOILERS)
I'm planning to make a Supergirl edit, but I really want to change the ending, one so the turn of Ruthye from killing Krem does not feel so rushed, it felt so TV like, like OH let me have flashbacks, hear wise words and be like okay. But also I want to change it so Krem is not killed by Kara Could VFX be used and A.I to create a new ending, ,my idea is to use a shot of him being dragged, and then maybe just have him locked in a prison using CG / AI combo? Then add a post-credit where we go 80 years later and he's seeing the sunrise and is visited and reminded. Something akin to the comics ending. I know that might be hard considering well, he's a uhhh(spoiler hidden). in the film but I think the ending could've been better. If I kept Lobo which now reading what Jess said about there edit ideas, yea he is completely useless, just there for comic fans to go "yeah!" but that meant nothing cause it still bombed hard. I've got more trims and re-arranges, entire opening reconstruction. But how could the ending be fixed? I'm against AI over an actual job but it's an edit, so use your resources I say. It'd just be for 1 scene. I do have a friend who does CG and such so maybe they could help but I need to figure out if this could believably be done first/

search function experiments
I decided to try with search functionality today. I have done a search index for forum posts and replies and topic titles. this is currently working fine, or so it seems. This could be expended to other aspects of the site . The current ranking of the search is based on the frequency of the search term in each post and title. I think I need to include options for ranking.

Your Favorites Of The Decade (So Far) Top 20 (10) either works, you pick!
The 2020s decade is half over, can you believe it? Yes a lot happened globally, but even in media there's been so many movies released, my own Letterboxd list of 2020s movies is over 200 long. https://letterboxd.com/prism_knight/list/2020s-decade/by/release-earliest/ (as always I warn cause LB can have adult content / reviews) tho I don't post those. But thinking back, there are SOO many films I absolutely love / loved, and think are pure bliss, whether originals, adaptations or originals! So let's count those down - I do ask if your film contains adult themes blur it (for my sake) if not a big deal. But whatever that said, lets highlight the best of cinema! My top 20 is: 20. Thunderbolts* 19. DC League Of Superpets 18. The Wild Robot 17. Fantastic Four (2025) 16. The Wild Robot 15. HTTYD (2025) - LA Remake 14. F1 13. Wicked For Good 12. Superman (2025) 11. Puss In Boots The Last Wish 10. Black Panther Wakanda Forever 9. The Flash (these 2 interchangeable) 8. The Fall Guy 7. Predator Badlands 6. Avatar Fire & Ash 5. Jesus Revolution 4. A Great Awakening 3. Spiderman Across The Spiderverse 2. Spiderman No Way Home 1. Wonka Why these films? Well below are brief analytical reviews that just briefly list why I love them. Thunderbolts & Jesus Revolution were so emotional for me, obviously for very different reasons, Thunderbolts* finale with the Void was one of the most emotional Marvel finales I've seen, not cause of cameos, which there were none, but because it was real. The void is the epitemy of "shame and guilt" and when he started punching him, and got hugged by his team, I cried in the theater, Because I felt like I was Bob, and that enemy he fought was my shame and guilt. Which leads into the latter, Jesus Revolution which just, idk. Spiritually moved me. Same for A Great Awakening - highly recommend Most of the others were just great fun, but some emotional highlights or pure cinematic and lovely bliss... well Black Panther Wakanda Forever - may not be perfect - it feels like it had notes... but I still felt Shuri's journey and that was the strongest part of the plot, and man Phase 4 with it's characters VS enemies fights, I mean yes Marvel, fights, but this is different, these characters lose everything and have to make a choice in combat. That said Spiderman No Way Home - my gosh... what a bliss of cinematic excellence, sure Act 1 kinda is rough... why would a sorcerer just let a kid do a brain-wash spell? BUT- the pay-off Act 2 and 3, the consequences, the handling, my gosh, it's absolutely amazing and that final fight actually is intense. Other major highlights are ofc Spiderverse & Puss In Boots The Last Wish and Project Hail Mary which might just be one of the best sci-fi films ever made. No questions asked?? Others are just spectacle, Predator Badlands, Avatar F&A, visually stunning, sick action, same with Fall Guy which my gosh is so funny. So many other great gems, I'd say honorable mentions? Tron Ares, Hungergames: Ballad Of Songbirds, & Aquaman 2, loved all 3.text

Favorite Film Decade
I think what films we like, tells us about where we want to be. I certainly love the nostalgia of 80s movies because it's my childhood, but where I really want to be is here and now, so I love current movies. I saw Mickey 17 in the cinema and Bugonia and Ponniyin Selvan, and I just like some of the notable films that will be remembered in the future and celebrated as the fine craft and art. Films represent progress and hope and ingenuity. Did you know that in the 80s, you have to phone up a special phone number to get accurate time and set your clocks manually? Well that, or we could listen out for the church bells.

Favorite Film Decade
I love movies, I've been trying to watch a lot more of them and a lot that I've not seen, but here's a fun question: What is your favorite decade of movies and why? Mine is the 1980s, I just love the feel of the films back then, so much wonder, imagination, fantasy, spectacle, science-fiction. Of many different kinds: I mean you had so many amazing films. You had titles like Superman 2-4, Indiana Jones (trilogy), Somewhere In Time, Fox & The Hound, Black Hole, Star Trek 2-5, E.T, Gandhi, Footloose, so many, so many, Karate Kid. I just loved the 80s and the feel of fun and whimsical and at times the grand storytelling of films like Karate Kid, films that truly feel like they could never be made today, not out of content but out of just, "is it possible"? to make films of that quality!?

Lassie Filmography Reviews & Ranking, Spoilers Ahead
Lassie, a star in there own way, not a human, nor with an Oscar. But one who touched the hearts of many back in the old days of the 40s & 50s. I'm working on rewatching / first-time watching all the lassie films. With my goal to rank them worst to best. There's a lot of them, I think 9 or so. all of varying directors, and qualities. Lassie Come Home (1943) Is a very good film, in-fact the first theatrical Lassie film and definitely of a different era, with it's simplistic plot, and long journey with only minimal conflict, I did really like it on rewatch and I definitely want to watch more Lassie because of it. Cute, nice performances, a story about the loyalty of a dog at it's heart and a gorgeous pup to show for it. 7/10 No real complaints, maybe could've been shorter but I mean it was shorter then I remembered! I think what I love is that it's a simple story, it's just about a dog going above and beyond to get home to it's owner. which sure, now days has been done a billion times! But I love the gentleness of this version, no major mountain lion fight or cruel bussiness-man wanting to kill the dog. It has some action and more thrilling moments, but I mean frankly they take like only 8 mins or so of the runtime. It's simple, sweet and fun.

Flops You Love
Despite the "idea" that bad box office is usually equal to bad property, aka: The film flopped cause it was garbage, there's genuinely some movies I love that are not successful financially and vice-versa. What are some for you? Some that come to my mind. 1: Art Of Racing In The Rain (2019) I don't see how it's bad enough to earn the fate it had, it barely made money, but I think while it is depressing, I found it's ideas sort of original: Danny for example treating life as a race on the track, where you have to adapt to the weather (or life's happenings), Kevin Costner voicing the lead dog Enzo (narrating) IDK why you'd do that, but hey A Dog's Purpose did and that made money. ;-; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp2ufFO4QGg 2: Tron Legacy (2010): It's not the Top Gun Maverick of Tron, in terms of quality on a script level maybe, but visually and sound wise, one of the best films ever made. (Pure bliss) I really enjoy the script and fast speed, and the lights, and my goodness, everything. I really liked it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIwXwVJZ3BY But what for you are films you love that didn't make it financially? and Why?
