Ghost Rider Episode I

by Pedantic Contrarian
Fanworkers Note: I have currently put this edit back into it's development phase as I feel I could have made it better, that and I need to iron out some glaring imperfections. Though once all that is sorted out I will happily take requests for those interested in seeing this edit.

CONTENT WARNING: This Fanedit contains Strong Bad Language, Dark Fantasy Styled Gore, Occult Themes, Mentally & Physically Self Destructive Behaviour, Scenes Of Prolonged Agony & A Vast Lack Of Moral Lecturing.

Certification: 15+ (If the content you see feels like it should warrant a lower or higher certification due to it's inaccuracy to the 15+ film certification rating in the UK than please contact me via Fanworx DMS and I will do everything I can as a responsible adult to correct my error in certification judgement)

Original Film Name: Ghost Rider The Extended Cut

I found the 2007 Ghost Rider Film to be rather bloated, bloated with bad jokes, bad acting, plotholes, unnecessary subplots, misinformative geographical statements, unnecessary adaption changes from the comics and an overall tone that just ping pongs all over the place.

My goal is to create a more narratively and tonally darker experience that maintains it's focus on the ''A Plot'' and the ''Main Character'' tied to the ''A Plot'' as much as humanely possible, other characters and subplots are only included when they are needed in order for the ''A Plot'' to function or when it's simply not possible for me to maintain the ''Main Character's POV'' without switching to another characters point of view.

In terms of comic book accuracy I have attempted to more faithfully adapt the aspects of the Ghost Rider Comics that I like well filtering out the parts of the Ghost Rider Comics that I dislike, even if I could adapt the comics this movie is based on 100% faithfully and put aside my bias towards certain storylines and characters I am ultimately limited by the footage this film gives me along with any potential footage I can find on the internet that would otherwise improve comic book accuracy further.

Saying that though if anyone does have any suggestions for how I could have better adapted this to fit the accuracy of the comics than feel free to either leave me a review explaining why and how or alternatively send me a DMS explaining your suggestion for how this edit could have better catered to the accuracy of the comics.

This edit has had a long and troubled development history and was originally going to be a two in one Fanmix of Ghost Rider The Extended Cut & Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance but various outside circumstances and contrivances caused the nature of the edit from it's tone to it's runtime to change rapidly over the years, certain months and days throughout those years proved to be quite emotionally draining for me given the circumstances and contrivances I was forced to deal with and navigate.

For those who came here from Fanedit dot org and have been following me as I've developed this edit or have interacted with me through private messaging in regards to there thoughts and suggestions for this edit over the years, I thank you for your patience and understanding with me as you've tried to comprehend my rather unorthodox editing style and utterly insane narrative ideas including those I did for my Eastwood Tales edit. Your praise and constructive feedback meant and means the world to me and such feedback and praise helped me to get through the darker days of my time as a Faneditor and now hopefully brighter days as a Fan Creator.

Upon initial glance and viewing, it may not seem like I've changed much or barely put any effort into it at all, in fact I can already predict viewers utter gasps of horror upon seeing the edits total runtime, though I assure you I put a lot of effort into it. Honestly I am surprised I saw this through and didn't call it quits given the amount of stuff I had to learn and overcome. Though regardless of it's growing or non existent reception it may or may not receive over the years I am just happy to have finally gotten the first half of it done.

As for the second half (Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance) I shall resume work on that ole chestnut after hmm...lets say a two month break at the shortest or once Summer concludes at the longest, I despise the heat and bugs of summer with every fibre of my being. anyway that's all I wanted to say if you have any questions regarding Ghost Rider Episode I post em either here or through Fanworx DMS and if this edit interests you and you own the source than feel free to contact me via Fanworx DMS for the link.

Just dropping a quick update in regards to the development of the second half of this project (Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance) though it's development has been slow it has been going well and I have found a way to link both films together visually and narratively hence why I am posting this update in this thread rather than creating an entirely new thread for a separate Fanworx. Once I have finished fine tuning the second half I'll be renaming this Fanedit to

''Ghost Rider: The Blaze Cut''

I was hoping to have the second half completed by late October just in time for Samhain/Halloween (Yes I partake in both traditions) though I don't see said completion happening this month, but I do foresee this edit remaining in the Fanmix & Short categorisation. Unless someone is able to make a convincing case as to why I should put certain scenes from both films back into there original narrative positions or why I should place certain scenes from both films back into the narrative in a rearranged order.

As to why my initial cut of this edit was so short, well to put it simply how much I cut out and keep from the source material tends to reflect how I feel about said source material. If I don't like the source material that much lots gets cut out and I only keep what I deem ''Good'' or ''Essential'' otherwise if I do like the source material I retain the vast majority of the footage and only make small cuts. If I truly ''Loved'' a Movie/TV Show unapologetically than I would either not do a Fanedit of it as I would deem it flawless or I would do an ''Extended Edition'' of said Movie or TV Show where I would add back in the deleted scenes and colour grade said deleted scenes to match the final footage.

I might need to alter the website code to rename topics if you rename your listing.

If it's to much to code I could leave the name of the listing unaltered and add a brief description of the changed name in this edits database entry if that would be easier?

I apologise for the inconvenience.
